Strengthened macroeconomic stability and continued improvement in the business climate tensions

BDO DRC is pleased to publish the latest edition of BDO DRC Economic Insights, our monthly analysis of economic developments in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The June 2026 Economic Outlook reviews the country's most recent macroeconomic developments and discusses the main trends shaping the business environment and investment outlook.

Strengthened macroeconomic stability

The Congolese economy continues to demonstrate resilience despite persistent global uncertainties, including geopolitical tensions and commodity price volatility.
Inflation remains contained, the exchange rate has remained broadly stable and international reserves continue to stand at historically high levels, supporting overall macroeconomic stability.

Sustained economic growth

Economic growth continues to be driven primarily by the mining sector, particularly copper and cobalt production.
At the same time, non-mining sectors are gradually recovering, reflecting stronger domestic economic activity.

Continued improvement in the business climate

Business confidence continues to improve according to the latest economic surveys published by the Central Bank of Congo.
This positive trend reinforces the country's attractiveness for both domestic and foreign investors.

Stronger external balances

High international reserves continue to support exchange rate stability and strengthen confidence in monetary policy.
Export revenues from the mining sector also continue to underpin the country's external position.
