Herman Ssimbwa is an IT Advisory Manager at BDO East Africa (Rwanda) with over 13 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and digital transformation across financial services, government, and large enterprise environments. He specializes in technology modernization, systems optimization, and IT risk and governance, and has led large-scale initiatives including Oracle Exadata deployments, VMware virtualization, and cloud migrations on AWS and Azure. Before joining BDO, he was a Senior Technical Consultant at HarelMallac Technologies, delivering complex digital transformation projects across East Africa.
Herman has supported major organizations such as NCBA Bank Rwanda, BPR Bank, Rwanda Air, and the Uganda Revenue Authority, strengthening system availability, scalability, and data integrity. His expertise spans VMware, Oracle RAC, OpenStack, Red Hat, NetApp, Dell VxRail, cybersecurity tools, and automation using Python and Bash. He holds multiple industry certifications including RHCE, VMware VCP, CEH, ITIL v4, PMP, and Oracle Exadata Specialist, and is passionate about helping organizations transition to secure, cloud-native and resilient digital architectures.
