2026/2027 Tanzania National Budget Highlights
On 11 June 2026, Tanzania’s Minister for Finance, Hon. Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar, tabled the 2026/2027 National Budget before the National Assembly.
BDO East Africa has prepared a summary of the key budget highlights, covering the economic overview, proposed tax measures, and other legislative changes that may affect businesses, investors, and taxpayers in Tanzania.
The publication highlights key proposals under VAT, income tax, withholding tax, excise duty, customs, local government finance, investment incentives, and other regulatory areas. The proposed revenue measures are expected to take effect from 1 July 2026, subject to the passing of the Finance Bill and relevant Government Notices.
